Fruits of the Spirit: Patience
Patience is the ability to wait with a calm and trusting heart. It helps us endure life’s delays, frustrations, and imperfections without losing peace. As a fruit of the Spirit, patience reflects God’s own mercy toward us. In our families, patience is shown when we listen without interrupting, respond gently in conflict, and give others the time they need to grow and change. It brings peace into our homes and strengthens our relationships. Let’s ask God to grow patience in our hearts so we can love each other more fully, just as He patiently loves us.
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
— Ephesians 4:2

Learning Highlights
OSHC Highlights
OSHC got into the Gympie Show spirit with our very own country dance party! The children worked together to create a playlist of their favourite songs, showing great teamwork and cooperation. They then sang their hearts out on the karaoke machine, filling the room with music, laughter, and showtime excitement! We have also been busy with crafts making hearts for our Reconciliation Week sea of hearts display outside of OSHC. Our interest for the term has been Superheroes which has sprouted many hero games and conversations about our favorite heros.

Parent Resources & Information
Ideas for play: PUT ON A SHOW TOGETHER
Children are natural performers! Using whatever props you have on hand (puppets, dolls, action figures, hairbrushes, boxes can all help), act out a play with your child. Let them dictate the plot as you go! The key is for your child to explore their own creative interests and express themselves.
Not sure where to start?
Bring a book to life: act out one of your child’s favourite books. Let the children grab some props, musical instruments and whatever else they want out, and have some fun re-telling the story together.
Choose a nursery rhyme: you know them well. Use one of the classics and turn it into a show.
Re-create your favourite episode of Bluey! Children often do this without prompting.
If your child isn’t into ‘acting’ get out the music instruments, cardboard boxes and put on a rock show!
Call in siblings, Grandparents, friends to watch the show!
Drama and storytelling also give your child opportunities to build and practise vocabulary and learn about the structure of stories. And when your child acts out roles like a caring nurse, they see the world from someone else’s point of view. This helps them build empathy.
The preschool years can be a very creative time! Give them the platform and safe space to perform. Have fun!
