We Can Be Content
“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.” – Philippians 4:11 NIV
This verse from Philippians has been a beautiful reminder to find peace in the present. In the busyness of daily life, routines, transitions, and the many little moments that fill our days, it’s easy to focus on what’s next or what still needs to be done. Yet God invites us to rest in contentment, trusting that He is working in and through every circumstance.
At the ELC, we see this truth reflected in the children each day. Their joy in simple discoveries, their laughter in play, and their ability to find wonder in the ordinary. They remind us that contentment doesn’t come from having everything we want, but from being thankful for what we have and finding peace in God’s presence.
I am so grateful for the children, families, and staff who make our community what it is, place of growth, joy, and grace. May we each find moments of calm and gratitude as we reflect on all that God has done in and through our ELC this year.

CCC Enrolment Incentive

ENROL FOR 2026 // At CCC, we prepare students for God’s world and His future by building a strong foundation for faith, learning, and life. When our families feel supported and cared for, they naturally want to share their experience with others, and now, there’s even more reason to spread the word!
For 2026, if you recommend a family to CCC and they enrol, both families will receive $500 off 2026 tuition fees (T&Cs apply). Help us share the love and invite more families into our CCC community.

Water Play
With the hot weather upon us as we lead into spring, we’ll be offering water play from time to time to help the children cool down and have some fun!
As it may happen on warmer days without much notice, we kindly ask that you keep the following items in your child’s bag at all times:
A sun-safe hat
Sun-safe clothing or swimmers
We’ll provide sunscreen (Please let us know if your child requires a specific sunscreen)
A towel
Having these items packed and ready means your child won’t miss out when water play pops up! Thanks for helping us keep playtime safe and enjoyable!
Items to bring every day

Lost and Found
Please take a moment to check the lost and found table in the ELC foyer. We’ve had a number of items turn up recently, and we’d love to see them returned to their rightful owners. Thank you!
Health Reminder – Term 4
As we begin Term 4, we remind families that illness can still be present in our community. Please keep your child at home if they are unwell and remember to mark them as absent in Xplor.
You’ll find a helpful poster below outlining the required and recommended exclusion periods for common illnesses and infectious conditions.
Thank you for helping us keep everyone healthy!

Volunteer Update – Important
We love having volunteers as part of the life of CCC and thank everyone who has supported a camp, excursion or class activity over the years.
Due to recent amendments to Queensland’s legislation, CCC is updating its volunteer screening process: all volunteers must now complete the new application form and associated training before undertaking any volunteer duties. In addition, any person volunteering in child-related roles will be required to hold a valid Working With Children (Blue) Card, which we will assist you to apply for free of charge through our administrative office. For full details of the new requirements and the legislative changes, see link below.

If needed, we are happy to discuss adjusting your session times to better suit your schedule if you are running outside of your normal hours, this will incur extra cost. Learning Highlights
Vacation Care Highlights
At CCC OSHC we ran a very successful Vacation Care. During the first week we ran our Chappy Club with non other than Chappy Linda. The theme was medieval and children spent the week with all activities based on the hall. We had castle making, tie dye, jousting and many more fun games.
Our second week was celebrating the start of Spring. Children made bird houses, wind chimes, seed bombs and plenty of flowers and bugs. Each day children were able to bring their own bike/scooter and ride around the school with our own made tracks. During both weeks children embraced our "My Time, Our Place" framework and made their holidays fun filled and looking forward to our next Vacation Care.

1 egg
-
1 ¼ self-raising flour
-
Plain flour, to dust

Health and Safety: Heat Safety
Summers in Australia can be very hot and long. We've put together some tips to keep you and your kids safe and cool over the summer.
How can I stay well during hot weather?
The best ways to avoid heat-related illness is to: Drink water, even if you don’t feel thirsty, because this can prevent you from becoming dehydrated. Avoid alcoholic, hot, or sugary drinks (including tea and coffee) because these can make dehydration worse. If you go outside, carry a bottle of water with you. Keeping as cool as possible can also help you prevent heat-related illness. Some ways to do this include.
A few tips for staying cool
- Stay out of the sun.
- Drink cold drinks and eat cold meals, such as salads and fruit.
- Wear light-coloured and loose-fitting clothes made from natural fibres such as cotton.
- Take cool showers or baths.
- Apply sunscreen and wear a hat, if you must go outside.
- Plan your day around the heat — avoid being outdoors between 11am and 5pm.
- Minimise physical activity.
Babies and children are more prone to dehydration due to their smaller bodies and fluid volume. They also sweat less, generate more heat while moving around and may not be able to express effectively when they feel hot and distressed. These factors can make it difficult for them to regulate their body temperature, which can lead to heat related illness like heat exhaustion or heatstroke.
Heat exhaustion and heatstroke can have negative impacts on a child’s health. Heat exhaustion can reduce their cognitive abilities, affect their mood and impact their social engagement. Heatstroke results in a child’s body not being able to regulate temperature. It is a medical emergency and can be life-threatening.
Signs and symptoms of dehydration or heat-illness
Mild symptoms include:
- darker urine and fewer wet nappies
- dry mouth and skin
- headaches and nausea in older children
Severe symptoms include:
- more irritable
- less alert, confused or increased drowsiness
- pale skin or skin that feels cold
- body is floppy or limp
- no tears when crying
- refuses to drink or is extremely thirsty
If your baby or child has mild signs and symptoms of dehydration or heat-illness, or you are worried, visit your local doctor or call Health Direct on 1800 022 222. If your baby or child has severe signs and symptoms of dehydration or heat-illness, call triple zero (000).
