Excursions @ the ELC
At our Early Learning Centre, we occasionally offer carefully planned excursions that extend and enrich children’s learning beyond the classroom. One highlight is attending local events such as the Gympie Show, which provides a valuable opportunity for children to engage with their community, experience new environments, and connect learning to the real world. These outings are designed to support the interests and developmental needs of the children, while also sparking curiosity and wonder.
Excursions are held during school hours and always prioritise the safety and wellbeing of every child. We ensure appropriate transport arrangements, adult supervision, and risk assessments are in place. Parents are often invited to attend, making these experiences even more meaningful as they share in their child’s learning journey.
Participating in excursions supports the development of social skills, resilience, and independence. Children learn to navigate new settings, follow instructions, and build confidence in different situations. These experiences also align with the Early Years Learning Framework by promoting a strong sense of identity, connection to the community, and active participation in learning.
Excursions are more than just a day out—they are purposeful, engaging learning opportunities that broaden children’s horizons and help them grow as capable, confident learners.
