Incursions @ the ELC

At our Early Learning Centre, we place a strong focus on Prep readiness by providing a range of meaningful experiences that help children feel confident and excited about their transition to “big school.” Our Kindy children enjoy weekly visits to key areas of the College such as the Library, Chapel, and Adventure Playground. These familiar routines build independence, confidence, and a sense of belonging within the broader school community.

Chapel time introduces children to worship and community values, while library visits foster a love for books and early literacy skills. Time at the Adventure Playground promotes physical development, problem-solving, and social interaction—essential for school success.

In addition to these regular experiences, we welcome a variety of outside visitors who enrich our learning through engaging incursions. These guests provide exciting, hands-on opportunities for children to explore new ideas, cultures, and real-world concepts—extending their thinking and curiosity.

Together, these experiences support key areas of development and align with the Early Years Learning Framework by promoting identity, confidence, wellbeing, and communication. Most importantly, they help each child build a strong foundation for their journey into Prep, ensuring they are well-prepared, supported, and eager to learn.
