Dance @ the ELC
Dance in the early years provides a joyful and creative way for children to explore movement, express themselves, and connect with others.
Dance supports the development of physical skills such as coordination, balance, and spatial awareness, while also nurturing creativity, confidence, and emotional expression. Through dance, children learn to interpret music, respond to rhythm, and share ideas and feelings using their bodies. It encourages imagination, helps children regulate their emotions, and builds social connections as they move together in group experiences.
In a Christian early learning community, dance also becomes an expression of worship and celebration. Children can respond to God’s love through movement, explore stories from the Bible in a meaningful and engaging way, and experience the joy of praising God together. Dance allows children to experience the wonder of creation, the beauty of music, and the unity of community.
By embracing dance in early childhood, we support the whole child—body, mind, and spirit—as they grow in faith, confidence, and joy within a Christ-centred environment.
My goal is to foster confidence, technique, and presentation in a faith-based learning space. I look forward to a year of growth and creativity. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
